9:9 주께서 우리 조상들이 애굽에서 고난받는 것을 감찰하시며 홍해에서 그들의 부르짖음을 들으시고
9:10 이적과 기사를 베푸사 바로와 그의 모든 신하와 그의 나라 온 백성을 치셨사오니 이는 그들이 우리의 조상들에게 교만하게 행함을 아셨음이라 주께서 오늘과 같이 명예를 얻으셨나이다

9 “You saw the suffering of our ancestors in Egypt; you heard their cry at the Red Sea. 10 You sent signs and wonders against Pharaoh, against all his officials and all the people of his land, for you knew how arrogantly the Egyptians treated them. You made a name for yourself, which remains to this day. 11 You divided the sea before them, so that they passed through it on dry ground, but you hurled their pursuers into the depths, like a stone into mighty waters. 12 By day you led them with a pillar of cloud, and by night with a pillar of fire to give them light on the way they were to take.
9:13 또 시내 산에 강림하시고 하늘에서부터 그들과 말씀하사 정직한 규례와 진정한 율법과 선한 율례와 계명을 그들에게 주시고
9:14 거룩한 안식일을 그들에게 알리시며 주의 종 모세를 통하여 계명과 율례와 율법을 그들에게 명령하시고
9:15 그들의 굶주림 때문에 그들에게 양식을 주시며 그들의 목마름 때문에 그들에게 반석에서 물을 내시고 또 주께서 옛적에 손을 들어 맹세하시고 주겠다고 하신 땅을 들어가서 차지하라 말씀하셨사오나
13 “You came down on Mount Sinai; you spoke to them from heaven. You gave them regulations and laws that are just and right, and decrees and commands that are good. 14 You made known to them your holy Sabbath and gave them commands, decrees and laws through your servant Moses. 15 In their hunger you gave them bread from heaven and in their thirst you brought them water from the rock; you told them to go in and take possession of the land you had sworn with uplifted hand to give them.
9:16 그들과 우리 조상들이 교만하고 목을 굳게 하여 주의 명령을 듣지 아니하고
9:17 거역하며 주께서 그들 가운데에서 행하신 기사를 기억하지 아니하고 목을 굳게 하며 패역하여 스스로 한 우두머리를 세우고 종 되었던 땅으로 돌아가고자 하였나이다 그러나 주께서는 용서하시는 하나님이시라 은혜로우시며 긍휼히 여기시며 더디 노하시며 인자가 풍부하시므로 그들을 버리지 아니하셨나이다
9:18 또 그들이 자기들을 위하여 송아지를 부어만들고 이르기를 이는 곧 너희를 인도하여 애굽에서 나오게 한 신이라 하여 하나님을 크게 모독하였사오나
16 “But they, our ancestors, became arrogant and stiff-necked, and they did not obey your commands. 17 They refused to listen and failed to remember the miracles you performed among them. They became stiff-necked and in their rebellion appointed a leader in order to return to their slavery. But you are a forgiving God, gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in love. Therefore you did not desert them, 18 even when they cast for themselves an image of a calf and said, ‘This is your god, who brought you up out of Egypt,’ or when they committed awful blasphemies.
여러분 오늘의 본문 말씀은 하나님에 대해 어떻게 이야기하고 있습니까? 또 사람에 대해, 인간에 대해서는 뭐라고 말씀하고 계십니까? 느헤미야와 함께 하였던 이스라엘 백성들의 성벽 공사가 엘룰월 즉 여섯번째 달 25일에 끝났습니다. 그리고 일곱번째 달 초하루 즉 1일에 그들은 학사 에스라에게 청하여 하나님의 말씀을 듣고 그 말씀을 밝히 깨달아 알게 되었습니다. 그래서 초막절을 7일까지 지키며 하나님의 말씀을 듣고 8일에는 성회를 열었다고 합니다. 이제 오늘의 말씀 24일입니다. 그렇게 말씀 가운데 거하던 이스라엘 자손이 다 모여 낮의 4분의 1은 말씀을 듣고 4분의 1은 회개하며 하나님을 경배하였습니다. 그때에 레위 사람들이 백성들 앞에 나아와 하나님께 부르짖고 하나님의 이름을 높이며 기도하는 것이 오늘의 말씀입니다. 그들의 기도 가운데에는 태초부터 시작된 하나님의 역사가 있고, 하나님께서 어떻게 그들을 선택하시고 그들을 구원하셨는지에 대한 고백이 있습니다. 구원자 되시는 하나님의 구원의 역사가 그들의 기도 가운데 계십니다. 또한 그 기도 안에는 그들의 조상들이 어떻게 교만하여 하나님께 거역했는지에 대한 그들의 고백 또한 있습니다. 아무런 자격없음에도 하나님께서 그들을 구원하셨음에도 불구하고 그들은 스스로 교만하여 그 구원의 하나님을 거역했던 것을 고백합니다. 그리고 그럼에도 불구하고 주님은, “그러나 주께서는 용서하시는 하나님이시라,” “용서하시는 하나님이시라”라고 그들은 고백하는 것입니다. 오늘의 말씀은 이것입니다. 그러나 주께서는 용서하시는 하나님이십니다. 용서하시는 하나님이십니다.
What does today's scripture say about God? And what does it say about people, about humans? The wall construction that Nehemiah and the Israelites were working on was completed on the 25th day of Elul, the sixth month. Then on the first day of the seventh month, they asked Ezra the scribe to read God's word to them, and they came to understand its meaning clearly. They celebrated the Feast of Tabernacles for seven days while listening to God's word, and on the eighth day, they held a solemn assembly. Now, today's scripture is about the 24th day. The Israelites who had been dwelling in the Word gathered together, spending a quarter of the day listening to the Word and another quarter confessing and worshipping God. At that time, the Levites stood before the people, crying out to God, exalting His name, and praying, which is the content of today's scripture.
In their prayer, we find the history of God from the beginning, and their confession of how God chose them and saved them. The history of salvation of God, who is the Savior, is present in their prayer. Also within that prayer is their confession of how their ancestors rebelled against God in their pride. They confess that despite having no qualifications, God saved them, yet they became proud and rebelled against the God of salvation. And despite this, they confess, "But you are a forgiving God," "You are a forgiving God." This is today's message. But you are a forgiving God. You are a forgiving God.
용서하시는 하나님 그 첫번째, 구원자되시는 주님이십니다. 우리 하나님은 구원자되시는 주님이십니다. 여러분 오늘 말씀 9절에서 15절의 말씀은 출애굽기의 압축판입니다. 이것은 이스라엘의 역사이지만 또한 우리에게 보여주시는 하나님의 구원의 역사이신것입니다. 하나님 어떻게 구원하셨습니까? 9절에 보니 “주께서 우리 조상들이 애굽에서 고난받는 것을 감찰하시며 홍해에서 그들의 부르짖음을 들으시고.” 여러분 하나님께서 여러분을 감찰하십니다. 지켜보십니다. 또 하나님께서는 여러분의 부르짖음을 들으십니다. 지금도, 그때나 지금이나 언제나, 여러분의 어려움을 보고 계시고 여러분께서 신음으로 기도하시는 것을 듣고 계십니다. 그리고 어떻게 하십니까? 10절 “이적과 기사를 베푸사 바로와 그의 모든 신하와 그의 나라 온 백성을 치셨사오니 그들이 우리의 조상들에게 교만하게 행함을 아셨음이라 주께서 오늘과 같이 명예를 얻으셨나이다” 이적과 기사를 베푸셔서 그들을 억압하던 애굽을 치셨다고 합니다. 그들을 억압과 압제로부터 해방시키셨습니다. 그렇게 주님의 일을 행하심으로 명예를, 이름을 얻으셨다고 합니다. 그뿐만이 아닙니다. 해방되어 나오는 이스라엘 백성들을 바로와 그 군대가 추적하여 올 때에 하나님께서는 바다를 갈라지게 하시고 이스라엘 백성들은 안전하게 “바다 가운데를 육지같이 통과하게 하시고 쫓아오는 자들을 돌을 큰물에 던짐같이 깊은 물에 던지”셨다고 합니다. 출애굽기 15:5을 보니 그 말씀 그대로입니다. “큰 물이 그들을 덮으니 그들이 돌처럼 깊음에 내렸도다” 이것은 무엇입니까? 완전한 구원입니다. 대적의 손으로부터 건지시고 더이상 그들이 추적조차 못하게 하시는 것입니다. 대적의 영향으로부터 완전히 끊어진 것입니다. 더이상 그들에게는 위협은 없는 것입니다. 그들은 안전한 것입니다. 이것이 하나님의 구원이십니다.
The forgiving God, first, is the Lord who is our Savior. Our God is the Lord who is our Savior. The verses 9 to 15 of today's scripture are a condensed version of Exodus. This is the history of Israel, but it also shows us God's history of salvation. How did God save? Verse 9 says, "You saw the suffering of our ancestors in Egypt; you heard their cry at the Red Sea." God watches over you. He keeps you. And God hears your cries. Now, then and now, always, He sees your difficulties and hears your groaning prayers.
And what does He do? Verse 10 says, "You sent signs and wonders against Pharaoh, against all his officials and all the people of his land, for you knew how arrogantly the Egyptians treated them. You made a name for yourself, which remains to this day." He performed signs and wonders to strike Egypt, which was oppressing them. He liberated them from oppression and subjugation. By doing the Lord's work, He gained honor and a name.
That's not all. When Pharaoh and his army pursued the Israelites as they were leaving, God parted the sea and allowed the Israelites to pass safely "through the sea on dry ground, but you hurled their pursuers into the depths, like a stone into mighty waters." Exodus 15:5 says exactly that: "The deep waters have covered them; they sank to the depths like a stone." What is this? It's complete salvation. He rescues them from the hands of their enemies and prevents them from even being pursued. They are completely cut off from the influence of their enemies. There is no more threat to them. They are safe. This is God's salvation.
또 무엇을 하십니까? 인도하십니다. 12절에보니 “낮에는 구름기둥으로 인도하시고 밤에는 불기둥으로 그들이 행할 길을 그들에게 비추셨사오며” 라고 합니다. 애굽 땅에서 나와서 이제 어디로 가야할지 모르는 이스라엘 백성들을 하나님께서는 직접 인도하십니다. 이들이 이동 중이라 천막생활을 하는데 아침에 일어나면 앞에 구름 기둥이 서 있는거에요. 보고 있다가 구름 기둥이 움직이면 텐트를 걷고 같이 움직입니다. 따라가는거에요. 안 움직이면 그냥 거기 있어요. 텐트치고. 밤에는 요 불기둥이랍니다. 어두운 밤에 불기둥이 움직일 때에 그들이 어디로 가야할 지 그 길을 비추어주셨대요. 또 이것은 무엇입니까? 보호하심이죠. 들짐승들이 가장 무서워하는 것이 무엇입니까? 불 아니겠습니까? 또한 습격이나 야습으로부터 이들을 보호하심이 아니겠습니까? 아무것도 피할 것 없어 완전히 노출되어있는 광야 길을 걸어갈 때에도 하나님께서는 이들을 인도하시고 보호하여주시는 것입니다.
구원자되신 주님 또 무엇하십니까? 강림하십니다. 말씀하십니다. 계명을 주시고 명령하십니다. 13절 “또 시내산에 강림하시고 하늘에서부터 그들과 말씀하사 … 계명을 그들에게 주시고 … 주의 종 모세를 통하여 계명과 율례와 율법을 그들에게 명령하시고.” 하나님께서 그 백성들 가운데 강림하십니다. 그들과 직접 말씀하십니다. 출애굽기 20:18-19을 보니 “뭇 백성이 우뢰와 번개와 나팔소리와 산의 연기를 본지라 그들이 볼 때에 떨며 멀리서서 모세에게 이르되 당신이 우리에게 말씀하소서 우리가 들으리이다 하나님이 우리에게 말씀하시지 말게 하소서 우리가 죽을까 하나니다” 라고 합니다. 하나님께서 시내산에 강림하시자 그 산이 떨며 연기가 나고 우뢰와 번개와 나팔소리가 천지를 진동하는 것이에요. 두렵죠. 하나님은 두려운 분이십니다. 우리가 죽을까 하나이다라고 하지 않으십니까? 그런 주님이 계명을 주십니다. 어떤 계명입니까? 13절에 “정직한 규례와 진정한 율법과 선한 율례와 계명”이라고 합니다. 내일 말씀 29절을 보니 “사람이 준행하면 그 가운데서 삶을 얻는 주의 계명”이라고 합니다. 이것은 누구를 위함입니까? 하나님의 백성들을 위한 것이죠. 그들이 진정한 삶을 얻게 하기 위한 선한 율례인 것입니다. 주님께서 임재하시고, 말씀하시고, 명령하시는 것 왜 입니까? 우리에게 생명 주시기 위함입니다.
What else does He do? He guides them. Verse 12 says, "By day you led them with a pillar of cloud, and by night with a pillar of fire to give them light on the way they were to take." God directly guides the Israelites who have come out of Egypt and don't know where to go. These people are living in tents as they move, and when they wake up in the morning, there's a pillar of cloud in front of them. They watch, and when the pillar of cloud moves, they pack up their tents and move with it. They follow. If it doesn't move, they just stay there, setting up their tents. At night, it's a pillar of fire. In the dark night, when the pillar of fire moves, it illuminates the way they should go. And what else is this? It's protection. What do wild animals fear most? Isn't it fire? Also, isn't this protection from raids or night attacks? Even when walking on the wilderness path where they are completely exposed with nothing to hide behind, God guides and protects them.
What else does the Lord who is our Savior do? He descends. He speaks. He gives commandments and orders. Verse 13 says, "You came down on Mount Sinai; you spoke to them from heaven. You gave them regulations and laws that are just and right, and decrees and commands that are good." God descends among His people. He speaks to them directly. Exodus 20:18-19 says, "When the people saw the thunder and lightning and heard the trumpet and saw the mountain in smoke, they trembled with fear. They stayed at a distance and said to Moses, 'Speak to us yourself and we will listen. But do not have God speak to us or we will die.'" When God descends on Mount Sinai, the mountain shakes and smokes, and thunder, lightning, and trumpet sounds shake heaven and earth. It's frightening. God is a fearsome being. Don't they say, "We will die"? Such a Lord gives commandments. What kind of commandments? Verse 13 calls them "just and right laws, true laws and good decrees and commands." Tomorrow's verse 29 says, "commands that give life to those who obey them." Who are these for? They are for God's people. They are good decrees to give them true life. Why does the Lord come, speak, and command? It is to give us life.
구원자되신 주님 또 무엇하십니까? 공급하십니다. 그리고 약속을 지키십니다. 15절 말씀보니 “그들의 굶주림 때문에, 그들의 목마름 때문에 하늘에서 양식을 주시고, 반석에서 물을 내”셨답니다. 여러분 하늘에서 먹을 것이 내릴 수 있습니까? 돌덩이에서 물이 나올 수 있습니까? 자연법에 어긋나는 일이죠. 기적입니다. 이 모든 기적 왜 하셨습니까? 그들의 굶주림 때문에. 그들의 목마름 때문에 하신 일입니다. 여러분 지금 9절부터 15절까지 말씀 들으시면서 하나님의 기적이 아닌 것이 어디있습니까? 애굽에서 이적과 기사를 베풀어 그들을 구원하셨습니다. 낮에는 구름기둥과 밤에는 불기둥으로 그들을 인도하셨습니다. 시내산에서 직접 강림하심으로 하나님의 위대하심을 보이셨습니다. 기적으로 하늘에서 만나를 내리시고 반석에서 물을 내심으로 이들을 공급하셨습니다. 하나님의 구원자되심이, 하나님의 인도하심이, 하나님의 위대하심이, 하나님의 공급하심이 나타나지 않는 부분이 어디있습니까? 그런 하나님께서 약속을 지키신다고 하십니다. “옛적에 손을 들어 맹세하시고 주겠다고 하신 땅,” 그 “땅을 들어가서 차지하라고 말씀” 하셨습니다. 그러면 어떻게 해야합니까? 기적의 하나님을 믿고 순종해야하지 않겠습니까?
What else does the Lord who is our Savior do? He provides. And He keeps His promises. Verse 15 says, "In their hunger you gave them bread from heaven and in their thirst you brought them water from the rock." Can food fall from the sky? Can water come out of a rock? It's against the laws of nature. It's a miracle. Why did He perform all these miracles? Because of their hunger. Because of their thirst. As you listen to verses 9 to 15, is there anything that is not a miracle of God? He saved them from Egypt with signs and wonders. He guided them with a pillar of cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night. He showed His greatness by descending directly on Mount Sinai. He provided for them by miraculously sending manna from heaven and bringing water from a rock. Where is there a part where God's salvation, God's guidance, God's greatness, God's provision is not shown? Such a God keeps His promises. He told them to "go in and take possession of the land" that He had "promised them with uplifted hand." So what should they do? Shouldn't they believe in and obey the God of miracles?
그러나 “그들은 교만하고. 목을 굳게하여. 명령을 듣지 아니하고. 거역하며. 주께서 그들 가운데에서 행하신 기사를 기억하지 아니하고. 패역하여 스스로 종 되었던 땅으로 돌아가고자 하였”습니다. 실로 어처구니 없는 일이지요. 하나님께서 이들을 종 되었던 땅에서 직접 구원하시고, 인도하시고, 강림하여주시고, 공급하셨던 것은 무엇 때문입니까? 그들이 고난 받는 것을 보시고 그들이 부르짖는 것을 들으셨기 때문이 아니었습니까? 그러나 이들은 패역하여 스스로 종 되었던 땅으로 돌아가고자 하였답니다. 이것이 우리입니다. 하나님께서 우리의 신음을 들으시고 우리를 위하여 십자가에 못박혀 죽으심으로 우리를 죄 가운데서 구원하시지 않으셨습니까? 오늘 나누었던 말씀처럼 하나님께서 구원과 인도하심과 임재하심과 공급하시는 이 모든 일들. 이 모든 일들을 우리를 위하여 행하셨음에도 불구하고 우리는 다시 스스로 종 되었던 죄 가운데로 돌아가고자 하는 것입니다. 우리에게 소망이 있습니까? 이스라엘에게 소망이 있겠습니까? 없지요. 우리에게는 소망이 없습니다. 이스라엘에게는 소망이 없는 것입니다. 그러나. 하나님은 용서하시는 하나님이십니다. 우리에게는 소망이 없지만 주님께 소망이 있는 것입니다. 17절 “그러나 주께서는 용서하시는 하나님이시라. 은혜로우시며 긍휼히 여기시며 더디 노하시며 인자가 풍부하시므로” 그리고 뭐라고 말씀하십니까? “그들을 버리지 아니하셨나이다.” “그들을 버리지 아니하셨나이다.” 여러분 이것이 우리 주님이십니다. 이것이 우리 하나님이십니다. 하나님께서는 우리를 버리지 아니하십니다. 우리를 용서하여주십니다. 바로 그런 하나님께 우리의 소망이 있는 것입니다. “은혜로우시며 긍휼히 여기시며 더디 노하시며 인자가 풍부하시므로” 우리를 버리지 않으시는 하나님. 그러나, 우리를 용서하시는 하나님. 소망 없는 우리를. 교만하여 하나님께 패역하는 우리를. 하나님을 기억하지 않는 우리를. 다시 스스로 종 되었던 땅으로 돌아가고자 하는 우리를. 그러나. 우리를 용서하시는 하나님. 그분이 저와 여러분들의 하나님이신 것입니다.
However, "they became arrogant and stiff-necked, and they did not obey your commands. They refused to listen and failed to remember the miracles you performed among them. They became stiff-necked and in their rebellion appointed a leader in order to return to their slavery." It's truly unbelievable. Why did God directly save them from the land of slavery, guide them, descend to them, and provide for them? Wasn't it because He saw their suffering and heard their cries? But they rebelled and wanted to return to the land of slavery on their own. This is us. Didn't God hear our groans and save us from sin by being crucified on the cross for us? Like the words we shared today, all these things - God's salvation, guidance, presence, and provision - He did all these things for us. Yet we try to return to the sin from which we were slaves. Do we have hope? Does Israel have hope? No. We have no hope. Israel has no hope. But. God is a forgiving God. We have no hope, but there is hope in the Lord. Verse 17 says, "But you are a forgiving God, gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in love." And what does He say? "Therefore you did not forsake them." "Therefore you did not forsake them." This is our Lord. This is our God. God does not forsake us. He forgives us. This is where our hope lies. "Gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in love," God who does not forsake us. But, God who forgives us. Us who have no hope. Us who are proud and rebel against God. Us who do not remember God. Us who want to return to the land where we were slaves. But. God who forgives us. He is the God of you and me.
말씀을 맺겠습니다. 하나님은 여러분의 고난받는 것을 보십니다. 그 부르짖음을 들으십니다. 그래서 여러분들을 구원하여 주십니다. 인도하여 주십니다. 강림하여 주십니다. 공급하여 주십니다. 구원자 되시는 주님이신 것입니다. 그러나 우리는 교만하여 우리의 구원자되시는 하나님의 명령을 듣지 아니하고 하나님을 기억하지 아니하고 스스로 종 되었던 땅으로 돌아가고자 하는 사람들입니다. 우리에게는 소망이 없습니다. 그러나 그럼에도 불구하고 하나님께서는 우리를 버리지 아니하십니다. 하나님께서는 우리를 용서하시는 하나님이십니다. 그렇기에 우리는 소망이 있습니다. 우리를 용서하시는 하나님 그분께 함께 나아가기를 원합니다.
I will conclude the message. God sees your suffering. He hears your cries. So He saves you. He guides you. He descends to you. He provides for you. He is the Lord who is our Savior. But we are people who, in our pride, do not listen to the commands of God who is our Savior, do not remember God, and want to return to the land where we were slaves. We have no hope. But despite this, God does not forsake us. God is a God who forgives us. That is why we have hope. We want to come together to God who forgives us.
