6 The angel said to me, “These words are trustworthy and true. The Lord, the God who inspires the prophets, sent his angel to show his servants the things that must soon take place.”
22:7 보라 내가 속히 오리니 이 두루마리의 예언의 말씀을 지키는 자는 복이 있으리라 하더라
7 “Look, I am coming soon! Blessed is the one who keeps the words of the prophecy written in this scroll.”
22:8 이것들을 보고 들은 자는 나 요한이니 내가 듣고 볼 때에 이 일을 내게 보이던 천사의 발 앞에 경배하려고 엎드렸더니
22:9 그가 내게 말하기를 나는 너와 네 형제 선지자들과 또 이 두루마리의 말을 지키는 자들과 함께 된 종이니 그리하지 말고 하나님께 경배하라 하더라
8 I, John, am the one who heard and saw these things. And when I had heard and seen them, I fell down to worship at the feet of the angel who had been showing them to me. 9 But he said to me, “Don’t do that! I am a fellow servant with you and with your fellow prophets and with all who keep the words of this scroll. Worship God!”
22:10 또 내게 말하되 이 두루마리의 예언의 말씀을 인봉하지 말라 때가 가까우니라
22:11 불의를 행하는 자는 그대로 불의를 행하고 더러운 자는 그대로 더럽고 의로운 자는 그대로 의를 행하고 거룩한 자는 그대로 거룩되게 하라
10 Then he told me, “Do not seal up the words of the prophecy of this scroll, because the time is near. 11 Let the one who does wrong continue to do wrong; let the vile person continue to be vile; let the one who does right continue to do right; and let the holy person continue to be holy.”

12 “Look, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to each person according to what they have done. 13 I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.
22:14 자기 두루마기를 빠는 자들은 복이 있으니 이는 그들이 생명나무에 나아가며 문들을 통하여 성에 들어갈 권세를 받으려 함이로다
22:15 개들과 점술가들과 음행하는 자들과 살인자들과 우상 숭배자들과 및 거짓말을 좋아하며 지어내는 자는 다 성 밖에 있으리라
14 “Blessed are those who wash their robes, that they may have the right to the tree of life and may go through the gates into the city. 15 Outside are the dogs, those who practice magic arts, the sexually immoral, the murderers, the idolaters and everyone who loves and practices falsehood.

22:17 성령과 신부가 말씀하시기를 오라 하시는도다 듣는 자도 오라 할 것이요 목마른 자도 올 것이요 또 원하는 자는 값없이 생명수를 받으라 하시더라
17 The Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” And let the one who hears say, “Come!” Let the one who is thirsty come; and let the one who wishes take the free gift of the water of life.
22:18 내가 이 두루마리의 예언의 말씀을 듣는 모든 사람에게 증언하노니 만일 누구든지 이것들 외에 더하면 하나님이 이 두루마리에 기록된 재앙들을 그에게 더하실 것이요
22:19 만일 누구든지 이 두루마리의 예언의 말씀에서 제하여 버리면 하나님이 이 두루마리에 기록된 생명나무와 및 거룩한 성에 참여함을 제하여 버리시리라
18 I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this scroll: If anyone adds anything to them, God will add to that person the plagues described in this scroll. 19 And if anyone takes words away from this scroll of prophecy, God will take away from that person any share in the tree of life and in the Holy City, which are described in this scroll.
22:20 이것들을 증언하신 이가 이르시되 내가 진실로 속히 오리라 하시거늘 아멘 주 예수여 오시옵소서
22:21 주 예수의 은혜가 모든 자들에게 있을지어다 아멘

제가 어렸을 때는 지금처럼 인터넷이나 유튜브가 없어서 학교에서 집에 오면 심심하기 그지 없었죠. 그나마 할 수 있는 것이 테레비를 보는 것이었는데 이것도 유선방송을 보는 집이 아니면 5시 반이나 되어야 겨우 뭔가 시작을 했죠. 그렇다고 비디오 가게에서 비디오를 빌려보자니 당시 국민학생이었던 저에게는 비디오를 빌리는 천원돈이 귀해서 결국은 그냥 TV에서 틀어주는 주말의 명화를 일주일 내내 기다렸던 기억이 납니다. 당시에 저희 부모님이 어느 선교단체에서 주말마다 성경공부를 다니셨었는데 덕분에 저는 주말마다 밤 늦게까지 주말의 명화를 시청할 수 있었죠. 부모님이 항상 나가실 때 엄마 아빠 오늘 몇시에 오니까 늦게까지 티비보지 말고 동생이랑 일찍 자라고 하셨죠. 근데 그렇게 되나요. 주말의 명화를 보다보면 시간가는 줄을 몰라요. 그때 저희 집이 빌라 2층이었는데 부모님이 계단을 올라오시는 소리도 못듣고 있다가 현관문을 여시는 소리에 깜짝 놀라가지고 TV를 빨리 끄고 황급히 자는 척을 했던 기억이 납니다. 물론 당연히 부모님께 걸려서 야단을 맞기 일쑤였죠. 오늘 말씀도 마찬가지 입니다. 주님은 오늘 말씀에서 몇 번이나 속히 오신다고 말씀하십니다. 그러나 우리가 이 말씀을 따라 준비하지 아니하고 세상 일들에 한 눈이 팔려 있다면 주님이 오시는 줄도 모르고 있다가 깜짝 놀라서 당황하게 될지도 모릅니다. 왜냐하면 계시록의 예언은 반드시, 또 속히 이루어질 것이기 때문입니다. 오늘은 예언은 반드시, 속히 이루어진다 라는 제목으로 말씀 함께 나누기 원합니다.
When I was young, we didn't have internet or YouTube like we do now, so I was incredibly bored when I came home from school. The only thing I could do was watch TV, and even then, programs wouldn't start until 5:30 PM unless you had cable. While I could have rented videos from the video store, as an elementary school student, even the one-dollar rental fee was too expensive for me. So I remember waiting all week long for the weekend movie showcase. At that time, my parents attended Bible study with a missionary organization every weekend, which meant I could watch these movies late into the night. My parents would always say before leaving, "We'll be back at this time, so don't stay up late watching TV - go to bed early with your younger sibling." But how could I do that? When watching these movies, I would lose track of time. We lived on the second floor of a villa apartment building, and I remember being so engrossed that I wouldn't even hear my parents coming up the stairs. When I heard the front door opening, I would quickly turn off the TV and pretend to be asleep. Of course, I would often get caught and scolded.
Today's message is similar. In today's scripture, the Lord tells us multiple times that He is coming soon. However, if we don't prepare according to His word and instead get distracted by worldly matters, we might be caught off guard and surprised when the Lord comes. Why? Because the prophecies in Revelation will surely and swiftly be fulfilled. Today, I want to share a message titled "Prophecies Will Surely and Swiftly Be Fulfilled."
오늘의 본문은 요한계시록의 결론입니다. 6-10절까지의 말씀은 이 예언의 말씀이 반드시 이루어질 것임을 분명히 합니다. 6절입니다. “또 그가 내게 말하기를 이 말은 신실하고 참된지라 주 곧 선지자들의 영의 하나님이 그의 종들에게 반드시 속히 되어질 일을 보이시려고 그의 천사를 보내셨도다.” 이 말씀이 무슨 뜻입니까? 이 말은 신실하고 참되다고 합니다. 즉 이 예언은 반드시 이루어 질 것임을 말하고 있습니다. 그 근거가 무엇입니까? 옛 선지자들의 영의 하나님. 즉 이 말씀은 다니엘이나 에스겔이나, 이사야와 같은 옛 선지자들에게 말씀하셨던 바로 그 하나님께서 말씀하신 것이라는 것입니다. 요한 계시록의 예언들은 그 옛 선지자들의 예언과 같은 권위를 가지고 있는 것임을 말하고 있는 것입니다. 그렇기 때문에 무어라고 합니까? 그의 종들에게 그의 천사들을 보내셨다고 하시는 것입니다. 천사들을 누구에게 보내셨습니까? 요한에게 보내셔서 반드시 속히 되어질 일을 보이셨다고 합니다. 그렇기 때문에 오늘의 이 두루마리의 말로 표현되어있는 예언의 말씀은 반드시 속히 이루어질 일인 것입니다. 이 말씀은 9절에서도 확인이 됩니다. 천사가 요한에게 말하지요. 나는 너와, 요한과, 네 형제 선지자들, 즉 요한과 옛 선지자들을 형제라 하며 요한에게 옛 선지자들과 같은 권위를 주고 있는 것입니다. 그리고 10절에 그 말씀의 쐐기를 찍지요. “두루마리의 예언의 말씀을 인봉하지 말라 때가 가까우니라” 이것은 다니엘 12:4 “다니엘아 마지막 때까지 이 말을 간수하고 이 글을 봉함하라”는 말씀과 정확히 대치되지요. 즉 요한의 예언이 다니엘의 예언과 같은 권위를 갖고 있으며 또한 다니엘 때의 말씀과는 반대로 때가 가까우니 인봉하지 말라는 말씀은 이 예언들이 반드시 또 속히 이루어진다는 것을 말하고 있는 것입니다.
Today's text is the conclusion of Revelation. Verses 6-10 clearly state that these prophetic words will certainly be fulfilled. Let's look at verse 6: "The angel said to me, 'These words are trustworthy and true. The Lord, the God who inspires the prophets, sent his angel to show his servants the things that must soon take place.'" (Revelation 22:6, NIV). What does this mean? It says these words are trustworthy and true. In other words, this prophecy will definitely be fulfilled. What's the basis for this? The God of the spirits of the prophets - meaning these words come from the same God who spoke to prophets like Daniel, Ezekiel, and Isaiah. This indicates that the prophecies in Revelation carry the same authority as those ancient prophets. Therefore, what does it say? He sent His angel to His servants. To whom did He send His angels? He sent them to John to show what must soon take place. That's why the prophecies expressed in this scroll will surely and quickly be fulfilled. This is confirmed again in verse 9, where the angel tells John, "I am a fellow servant with you and with your fellow prophets." This puts John on the same authoritative level as the ancient prophets. And verse 10 drives this point home: "Then he told me, 'Do not seal up the words of the prophecy of this scroll, because the time is near.'" (Revelation 22:10, NIV). This directly contrasts with Daniel 12:4: "But you, Daniel, roll up and seal the words of the scroll until the time of the end." This contrast between John's prophecy and Daniel's prophecy shows they carry equal authority, but while Daniel was told to seal his prophecy, John is told not to seal his because the time is near.
자, 그렇다면 이 예언의 말씀. 반드시 이루어지고 속히 이루어질 말씀은 과연 무엇입니까? 바로 예수님께서 속히 오신다는 말씀입니다. 7절과 12절에 예수님께서 말씀하십니다. “보라 내가 속히 오리니” 예수님께서는 속히 오실 것입니다. 그리고 예수님께서 오실 때에 빈손으로 오시지 않습니다. 7절에서는 예언의 말씀을 지키는 자는 복을 받겠다고 말씀하시고 12절에서는 각 사람에게 그가 행한대로 갚아 주리라고 말씀하십니다. 이 두 말씀은 사실 같은 말씀이지요. 주님께서 속히 오실 것이다. 그러므로 불의를 떠나고 의로운 자가 되어라. 앞 절인 11절에서 불의를 행하는 자와 의를 행하는 자를 말씀하시며 14절과 15절에서도 마찬가지로 새로운 예루살렘 성으로 들어올 의로운 자들과 성 밖에 내쳐지게 될 불의한 자들에 대한 말씀을 하시는 것은 이 말씀을 듣는 사람들로 하여금 무엇을 선택해야 할지를 분명히 알려주고 있는 것입니다. 무엇을 선택해야 합니까? 14절의 말씀처럼 우리의 죄된 옷을 주님의 보혈로 씻는자. 그것도 계속 현재 진행형으로 꾸준히 주님 앞에 나아와 죄사함을 받는 자 곧 이들이 복이 있고 생명나무가 있는, 영생이 있는 하나님의 새로운 성으로 들어가게 되는 것입니다. 새 하늘과 새 땅의 주민이 되는 것입니다. 그러므로 우리는 반드시 이루어질 이 예언을 지키는 자가 되어야 하는 것입니다.
So what exactly is this prophetic message that will surely and swiftly be fulfilled? It's that Jesus is coming soon. In verses 7 and 12, Jesus says, "Look, I am coming soon!" Jesus will come quickly. And when Jesus comes, He won't come empty-handed. Verse 7 says those who keep the words of this prophecy will be blessed, and verse 12 says He will reward each person according to what they have done. These two statements are essentially the same message: The Lord is coming soon, therefore turn away from unrighteousness and become righteous. Verse 11 speaks of those who do wrong and those who do right, and verses 14-15 similarly speak of those who will enter the New Jerusalem and those who will be left outside. This clearly shows people what choice they need to make. What should we choose? As verse 14 says, we must be those who wash our robes in the blood of the Lamb - and do so continuously, constantly coming before the Lord for forgiveness. These are the ones who are blessed and will enter God's new city where the tree of life is. They will become citizens of the new heaven and new earth. Therefore, we must become those who keep these prophecies that will surely be fulfilled.
16절에 주님께서 이 예언을 교회들에게 주시며 주님이 광명한 새벽별이시라고 말씀하십니다. 이것은 현재 핍박과 환난을 당하고 있는 교회에게 이 밤의 끝이 곧 임했다는 것을 알려주시는 것입니다. 어둠 가운데 동이 채 뜨기도 전에 찬란하게 빛나는 저 새벽별 처럼 주님께서 이들에게 그들의 고통과 환난이 곧 끝날 것임을, 밤이 지나고 새벽이 오고 있음을 알리고 계신 것입니다. 그래서 17절에 이 예언의 글을 읽고 있는 우리를 초청하십니다. “성령과 신부가 말씀하시기를 오라 하시는도다. 듣는 자도 오라 할 것이요 목마른 자도 올 것이요 또 원하는 자는 값없이 생명수를 받으라”하십니다. 성령께서 오라고 부르십니다. 교회도 여러분들에게 오라고 말씀을 전합니다. 이 말씀을 전해 듣는 자도 오라고 다른 이에게 말할 것이라고 합니다. 이 얼마나 기쁜 소식입니까? 원하는 자에게 값없이, 목마른 자에게 값없이 생명수를 주신다고 하시는 것입니다. 우리가 주님께 나아갈 때에 주님께서 우리에게 복이 있으리라고 하시는 말씀 또한 이 예언의 일부입니다. 반드시 이루어 지는 것입니다. 속히 이루어질 것입니다.
In verse 16, the Lord gives this prophecy to the churches and calls Himself the bright Morning Star. This tells the churches currently experiencing persecution and tribulation that the end of this night is near. Like the morning star that shines brilliantly before dawn breaks through the darkness, the Lord is telling them that their suffering and tribulation will soon end, that night is passing and dawn is coming. That's why in verse 17, He invites us who are reading these prophetic words: "The Spirit and the bride say, 'Come!' And let the one who hears say, 'Come!' Let the one who is thirsty come; and let the one who wishes take the free gift of the water of life." (Revelation 22:17, NIV). The Holy Spirit calls, "Come!" The church delivers this message to you: "Come!" Those who hear this message will tell others to come. What joyous news is this? He offers the water of life freely to anyone who wants it, to anyone who thirsts. When we come to the Lord, His promise that we will be blessed is also part of this prophecy. It will surely be fulfilled. It will happen soon.
말씀을 맺습니다. 주님께서 우리에게 반드시 이루어지는 예언의 말씀을 주셨습니다. 이것은 속히 이루어질것입니다. 그렇기에 주님께서는 우리를 ‘오라’ 라고 부르십니다. 우리에게 불의한 일을 떠나고 의를 행하라고 말씀하십니다. 주님이 속히 오실 것이니 이 계시록의 말씀을 지키고 복이 있는 자가 되라고 하십니다. 그럴때에 우리는 사도 요한의 말씀처럼 “아멘 주 예수여 오시옵소서”라고 외칠 수 있게 되는 것입니다. 여러분 오늘이 벌써 2024년의 마지막 날입니다. 시간이 가는 것이 너무 빠릅니다. 더 늦기 전에 오늘 말씀처럼 주님 앞에 복 있는 여러분이 되시기를 그래서 이 예언의 말씀이 이루어지는 것을 기쁨으로 기다시리는 여러분이 되시기를 주님의 이름으로 축원합니다. 기도하시겠습니다.
Let me conclude. The Lord has given us prophetic words that will certainly be fulfilled. This will happen soon. That's why the Lord calls us to "Come!" He tells us to turn away from unrighteousness and do what is right. He tells us to keep the words of Revelation and be blessed because He is coming soon. Then we can cry out like the Apostle John, "Amen. Come, Lord Jesus!" Brothers and sisters, today is already the last day of 2024. Time flies so quickly. Before it's too late, I pray in the Lord's name that you will become blessed people before the Lord, as today's message tells us so that you would eagerly wait for the fulfillment of the prophesies. Let us pray.
